I think Imagination Park is a red herring.

>> If only the "locals" had embraced the California quirkiness of the OS and the Dinosaur with sunglasses as examples of California Architecture displayed throughout the State. I will never understand the rejection to DCA. With the cost of travel on the freeways...just how frequently are the native Californians able to visit the tourist choices "sampled" in the original DCA. <<

If I didn't know better, I'd swear you were doing a parody of Barry Braverman. Or a tongue-in-cheek, somewhat sarcastic impersonation of Michael Eisner.

>> WDC is my bet. Walt Disney's California. <<

Since Disney was born in Chicago, how about "Walt Disney's Illinois?" Or since I'm sure he visited New York City on several occasions, how about "Walt Disney's New York?" Or since he admired Florida enough to have located his last major venture there, how about "Walt Disney's Florida?"

Moreover, it doesn't help that "California," now more than ever, is taking on an increasingly tarnished image. In fact, I just read that larger and larger portions of the TV and movie industry -- which Walt Disney, of course, is most closely identified with -- are abandoning this part of the country, moving to other states or even farther away, to Canada, Australia, Europe, etc. So the people at the DisCo had better be cautious in assuming that attaching "California" to the name of one of their parks is a good thing, from either a public-relations or marketing standpoint.

I liked the Orange Stinger, crazy metal orange peel and all. The peel is what really differentiated it from the same ride at a million other parks. I hope whatever they do with the new one makes it equally unique.

Unlike some here, I don't mind "carny rides" if they have a Disney twist that makes them unique.

Wow, I'm 100% on board if they change the name and for many its a no-brainer to do so to make DCA a 'new' park, change the perception altogether the old 'DCA' is gone!!

But Disneys Imagination Park??? God, I hope thats a joke. Gag me already. Walt Disney's California doesnt do much for me either. It feels strange to have a title Walt Disney explored the entire state like he was Caine in Kung Fu. Change the name, but something a little MORE specific (IE no dreaded DIP) and something a little more general (ie no WDC). It cant be that hard to come up with a more appropriate title.
