Your having a chicken sandwich at Taste pilots grill and its 1230 pm and you discover there are no tables what do you do? Give me your secrets on how to find an empty table.Without sitting in the sun on a hot day. This includes every eating place.

I have asked a small party if I can sit at the end of their table......I have never been turned down yet.
My kids (really) are well-behaved...and I would not ask just any other party.......(especially now, after reading the other thread about kids...lol)....but, so far...I have always gotten responded to with a "yes"

What we do is walk inside, scope the place out for a few minutes to see if there are any free tables or if someone gets up and leaves and if they don't, we just eat somewhere else. If there is a free seat, one of us will grab the table and the other will get the food. Unless it's something small like a skewer or a pretzel or something small and we'll ask to share a bench with another couple of people. If it's restaurant though, and there are no seats visible before we get our food, usually we don't bother.

See, I always hope that by the time I've received my food another group will have finished with their table. And if not, I'm ok walking away somewhere else with it and there's usually plenty of bench space at the Sun Plaza on the planters.

Circle, circle, circle... as soon as it looks like someone is picking up their stuff to leave be ready to go in for the kill. Never make eye contact with your fellow table vultures.

Why try at the peak hour? Wouldn't it be easier to eat at off hours?

We tend to eat off hours, it makes more sense to us. About an hour or 2 before the norm we try to shoot for. So when we're finishing up, the rest of the crowd is beginning to move in on our table. It's a win win situation for us, because after we eat with no crowds, we get to ride the attractions with no crowds too!

Thanks for the advice and you all can come down and sit at my table anytime.

Don't fight the crowds. Leave and come back later.

When they zig you zag.
