<<Too violent, too gross>>

Too bad, I liked it ;)

Yes, it was violent and gross and I had to turn my head away from the screen more than once but the story was so layered, it reeked of apartheid and many, many other injustices. There were a couple of gaping holes in the storyline but it still had me riveted. I'll see it again.

I didnt like it either. The blood, gore and violence didnt bother me. I am a horror movie fan, however the story line was way too boring for me. It looked like it was going to be so good and I was very disappointed. They had a good idea and could have done so much with it but it just didnt do it for me.

The documentary-style filming -- didn't add a thing, and felt 'been-there-done-that'

The transformation into the alien -- fingernail bit -- lifted right out of 'The Fly' remake with Jeff Goldblum.

The alien language -- sounded like cross between a Star Wars character and Lou Gossett Jr. in 'Enemy Mine'

That alien compound was huge!! -- thousands and thousands of aliens -- and yet we see none of it. Our lead character just happens to run into the same guy in the same shed?

And how many times do we need to see a human or alien get atomized by a freaky powerful gun? And blood splatter on the 'camera' -- which is so weird anyway...

I don't know, I felt like I was watching someone play a first-person shooter video game.

Boring...

Totally agree with you. Or watching a film that someone decided to make in their own backyard with their video camera. My brother used to do stuff like that when he was like 12! LOL

Wow, after all the glowing reviews I had read I can tell I'd have been very disappointed had I shelled out my 9 bucks for it. I may still see it, but I'll wait for a rental or cable.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I just want to add that I really really enjoyed this movie. Most things Jim said were true, but they didn't matter to me. I think they had an incredible story, and told it in a totally unique way. Very good film!

Deb I look at it this way if you're on the fence it's best to wait for dvd. But if you really want to see something then go see it, just because someone didn't like it shouldn't sway you.

I have no problem waiting for DVD, I usually save my theater dollar for big epic eye candy type movies (romantic comedies are always cable or DVD).
All times are Pacific Time (US)
