I was looking at gaming site reading a review of Beatles Rock Band where I noticed an article saying Disney is thinking of buying Electronic Arts. This is just all rumor right now but it would kind of line up with Disney buying Marvel to attract young men. This way they can attract older males.

Disney bought Wideload today, a video game developer that created Halo.

Actually I think the news media got it wrong. WideLoad did not create Halo.

I would love to see Disney acquire EA Games.

Disney creating EA games would be perfect, especially since EA already has a deal in place with ESPN....

Remember Disney already has a Video game development arm at Buena Vista (developed the recent M-rated 'Turock'). And Disney characters are featured in the popular Square Enix property "Kingdom Hearts".

Now I think that would be something fun to see; KH charaters Roxas and others running around Disneyland with a keyblade!

Disney also had an animation and live action studio before it bought Pixar and got involved with Miramax. Disney could certainly benefit from operating different successful gaming entities.

I think EA would be a good thing to get.

The whole Square Enix thing isn't what it should be.
All times are Pacific Time (US)
