| grlweatswchpstx Mon 9/14/2009 12:18a | So I'm pretty sure after this Zorro release, the Treasures series is over... I'm not positive, but they are releasing a D23 collection with all the current discs. I'm thinking they're looking to end it here. Any thoughts or rumors? |

I have all of them so I wouldn't buy them again but I'd like to see exactly what they're including. It looks small so I can't see them including everything the individual tins had in them, but there will be a seperate litho card for the whole set (Not enough incentive for me for another $500).
So I just have a feeling since Zorro comes out around the same time, that will probably be the end of the series. I hope I'm wrong but who knows.. |

| FiveBearRugs Wed 9/16/2009 2:14p | Sunita, I am SO hoping that they continue the series...as much as I also LOVE the tins that come with it (remind me to tell you the story of what happened to one of mine), I think they probably could've saved money and released more sets (instead of a limited number) if it came tin-free.
Now I know that most of the Treasures are pre-Walt's death, but I would love to see:
-Our Unsung Villains/Disney's Greatest Villains/A Disney Halloween/Disney's Halloween Treat
-Disneyland Showtime: 1970 WWODisney program with Kurt Russell and The Osmonds debuting the Mansion...but not before everyone searches the park for a lost Donny. I thought that that idea was a cool way to show off the park. :)
-From POTC to the World of Tomorrow: Another WWOD special, part of this is an extra on the POTC: Black Pearl DVD... If you've never seen this, this is the debut of Pirates and TLand '67.
-Gala Day at DL; this was the color version of DL 1959 (on the Your Host WD set) and was shown in theatres. Quite frankly, I don't know why this was never included on any of the DL Treasure sets.
-WDW's Grand Opening/Sandy in DL/Christmas at WDW/Kraft Salutes DL's 25th Anniv/DL's 30th Anniv Celebration: No explaining necessary; however the 'Sandy' is a 1974 special featuring Sandy Duncan. While we're at it, maybe we can throw in the Lucie Arnaz Debuts Space Mountain special too.
That said, I think we have enough DL specials to make a Treasures set for their 55th next year... Geez, five years sure went by fast :) |

And I completely agree, there are so many great features they could continue with. And honestly with the amount of people who scoop them up as soon as they are released, I can't see them having problems making their money back. Last year I was so busy I forgot to check on the release dates and almost missed one of the set because less than a week after the release Dr. Syn was gone.. Not even on Amazon anymore, it was up for sale at twice the price from outside vendors.
Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone had heard anything about it. I wonder if we email them, if they might tell us which one is missing from the set? |

| FiveBearRugs Wed 9/16/2009 8:50p | Not totally off the topic, but a coworker got the Dr. Syn set at DL a couple of months ago.
chpstx...since I haven't known you long enough to actually call you by your name, lol...back in Jan, I ended up winning all 4 Mickey sets on eBay, although I could've gone to Fry's and bought Mickey B/W 2.
All of the sets came in great condition except for the latter: the tin came totally damaged! It wasn't the seller's fault, since he had 100% positive feedback and was with eBay for a long time; you could *tell* that it happened during transit.
Anyway, I posted pics to LP Live and whined about it...and one of the LPers sent me *their* tin as a replacement. :)
I have: -All 4 Mickeys -All 4 Donalds -Goofy -Both Silly Symph (I won Volume 1 a couple of weeks ago) -Front Line -Behind the Scenes at WD Studios -Your Host Walt -DL USA -DL: Secrets, Myths & Legends -Rarities
I'm contemplating Oswald...there are 3 copies left at Fry's... |
