| Kathi K Mon 10/12/2009 8:58p | For once my husband and I made it to the park before opening. Parking was very good. We were close up in the Pinocchio parking lot. While on the tram a woman was saying the two days before, Thursday and Friday, they had to park at the Convention Center and by the Garden Walk. We braced ourselves for a very busy day. The morning was not bad at all. We got a locker and a pumpkin muffin and coffee. We went to Space Mountain first thing to get fastpasses. We weren’t sure we would feel up to using them but wanted to have them just in case. Then we rode Buzz about four times (my favorite ride), the line was so short. Then we went over to the Haunted Mansion. The line was extremely short. Got on the train after that and went over to Tomorrowland. Got fastpasses for Buzz then got back on the train. Went to Toontown station and got on Small World. So far a great day and not too many people. We had reservations at Café Orleans for 12:30pm. In the past they wanted you to check in 15 minutes early. This time they would not let us check in early at all. So we hung out in the shops and then had lunch. Ordered my onion soup with extra cheese this time. Oh so good. Got back on the train after lunch, went over to Tomorrowland, got more fastpasses to Buzz, then got on the Monorail to go check out the pin shop at Downtown Disney. I was trying to find the September Bad News magazine pin for my daughter. We found out that it was Jack Skellington for that month and they said it sold out in three days. Ebay here we come! We then went though the Grand, with a stop at Whitewater Snacks for drinks, to get to CA. We went on the Sunwheel and were amazed at the work going on for World of Color. Can’t wait! After going on Midway Mania (45min wait) we made our way to the front and found a gingerbread cookie at the candy store. Another favorite of mine and they didn’t have any at Disneyland. Back in DLR we then went to the hub. It was only 5pm but people were already getting seated for the fireworks so we found what was probably the last bench. After about a half hour a CM came over and told us they were doing something different with crowd control and our bench was going to get moved and she didn’t know where. Well, I don’t know where they ended up moving the bench but the two of us and another family got to sit in the VIP fireworks seating. Sweet! So we got to go have dinner and then come back at our leisure. The new fireworks are awesome! I loved the effects and the music. They are a must see. After fireworks we went to Space Mountain. I am not sure but I think there was a CM shouting that fastpasses with an earlier time were not going to be honored because it was so packed at that time. We went ahead and they let us through. I was so scared about going on it. At times it has made me sick. This time it was fine. Maybe I was just too tired to have it matter. It was fun with the Halloween effects but definitely not for little children. Two more times on Buzz and we headed out. This was a new thing for us, not leaving right after the fireworks. It made for a lot easier time getting on the trams. It did get very crowded in the afternoon. They added a third showing of Fantasmic. We always enjoy our time at Disneyland and will be back with our granddaughter in two weeks.

| Kathi K Thu 10/15/2009 10:57a | I guess our highest score on Buzz was in the 500,000s. We always hope that we will be stoped right in front of Zurg but no such luck this time!
999, we will surely be on HMH again with the granddaughter! |

*sigh* all that fun in the park and not even a Happy Birthday for Shiva...and I've always liked the name "Kathy" :p
The Buzz guns really seem to be getting more and more out of alignment. The last few times I've gone, the dot is about a foot off from where I aim. There was a time when I could get scores in the 700,000 & 800,0000's...but not lately.
Hope you and the granddaughter have lots of fun in a couple of weeks. How about an LP Live shot or 2 on the next trip? |

| Kathi K Mon 10/19/2009 8:07a | Shiva, you are much more talented with this place. I wouldn't even know how to begin to do a live shot. And Happy Belated Birthday!
Here is our tip for the buzz guns. Right after they are activated we shoot them up at the ceiling. You can see how you need to adjust your aim by where you see the dot. |
