I'm getting very excited as in just over 6 months, I'll be visiting Tokyo and of course, Disney Land Tokyo!!!
I've been to DL, WDW and DLP before and would call myself something of a Disney addict but getting information about TDL seems to be a little tricky.
Firstly, we (my wife and I) plan on spending 3 days and 3 nights at the park although we can add an extra day if we need to. Whilst I'm sure I could spend a lot longer in the parks, do you think this is enough time?
We are also fortunate enough to be able to say at one of the Disney hotels during that part of our trip and my wife has fallen in love with the Miracosta. Unfortunatly the number of room types has caused some confusion. Any advice would be great. Is it worth getting a great view of the park (could cost £100 more per night) bearing in mind that I'm sure we will be in the parks all day and watch the shows from within the park rather than the room - no matter how good the view is.
When we stayed at DLP for the first time we were mysteriously upgraded to the DinseyLand hotel and had a great view of the park. We loved this but not sure if it's worth spending a lot on.
Finally, are there any 'must see' TDL attractions that better than other counterparts in other parks. We plan to make the 'TDL' only attractions a priority but would love to see some especially well done classic attractions whilst we're at it.
Thanks all! |

So you're coming in April then? That's a great time to visit, nice weather and cherry blossoms in bloom if you're lucky. You should research when the school vacations are though, the parks can be a madhouse at that time.
Good luck with your planning! |

We did a little planning before we booked the flights and I think we are coming the week before or the week after the long national holiday (Golden Week?). Hopefull this will make for a more relaxing visit.
Thanks for the info! |

As for the school breaks, that'd be something else to look into (the school year ends in April).
Can you provide approximate dates that you'll be here? If so, I can research the school holiday dates for you so you know what you're getting into. |

We will be there from the 14th - 23rd April. At the moment we are planning to be in TDL from the 19th or 20th through till the end of our stay (we have to leave fairly early on the 23rd) |

The MiraCosta is unique among the Disney hotels in that you are truly immersed in the park, even in your room. You can leave the window open and have all the background music and sound effects from Mediterranean Harbor pour in, making it feel as you've never left the park. You can get this atmosphere with some of the cheapest rooms though (for example, the Tuscany side rooms open up to the AquaSphere and you can hear the splashing and orchestral music all day and through to around midnight). |

While you can easily fill four days and more at the Resort, Tokyo is also a fantastic destination and often gets overlooked when planning Tokyo Disney Resort trips.
Have you also considered seeing Zed, Tokyo Disney Resort's resident cirque de solie show. Its a must see! |

| SeaTokyo Thu 10/15/2009 9:04p | agree with TDR_Fan about the MIRACOSTA. harbor view rooms are a MUST, expensive, but well worth the view and the atmosphere. I have stayed there four times and I never get tired (just last week in fact). there is no other hotel like it in disney where you have the park right outside your window, it's like you never leave. TIP: order room service for dinner and watch BraviSEAmo! all in the privacy of your own room. |

The school year actually ends in March, my mistake.
You should be just fine in mid-April. :)
***Any advice would be great. Is it worth getting a great view of the park (could cost £100 more per night) bearing in mind that I'm sure we will be in the parks all day and watch the shows from within the park rather than the room - no matter how good the view is.***
Why would you not want to return to your room to watch? It's literally steps away, and depending on how much you're willing to spend, you could have quite literally the "best view in the house".
Unlike the Disneyland Paris hotel which looks quite spectacular, the Mira Costa is actually IN the park so going to your room is no more difficult than strolling over to a snack cart.
Might be worth it. If you're spending a ton of cash to stay there in the first place, why not go all out and get the most for your money?
