Tue 10/20/2009 10:19a | Looking at the map, it looks like they have a pretty good lineup of stuff. Here are my general thoughts going around in the random-ish order that I followed.
The Jurassic Park ride will be in round rapids rafts instead of in a boat like the other versions. I don't know if that will allow visitors to see the story very well, but it's nice to put a new twist on an existing attraction.
Really, Water World? Yah, they have the show in the other parks, but when was the last time anybody saw that movie (or even talked about it being anything other than a total flop)?
The Battlestar Galactica coasters look like they might be interesting. It looks like one is floorless (like Kraken in Sea World Orlando), and the other is suspended. It will be interesting to see how the 2 types interact with eachother.
I'm sure they wanted some backstage stuff to be included in their park, but the New York section just seems like a waste of space to me.
The big theater in Hollywood is probably a good idea for somewhere in the park, but I don't know how well a venue like that will work that close to the park entrance. If it turns into a big draw, they will probably have some crowd control issues. Also, is it just me, or does it look like the Hollywood area will be covered, like the entrance to USJ?
I have to wonder if Madagascar has the staying power to host its own land like that. I'm afraid it will look dated pretty soon. Like the Shrek area, since that seems to have completely run its course already in US markets.
It looks like it has quite an impressive parade route, which is probably a good idea.
Other than that stuff, my only other concern is that there doesn't appear to be much space to expand once the park opens. There's the spot for the Transformers ride, and maybe an area between Shrek and Jurassic Park, but it looks like they're building themselves in. Luckily, it appears to be a full day park, so that won't be an issue for a while, but once they want to start adding more attractions in 5-10 years, they might have a tough time. |

Why bother with having any AA dinosaurs along the shore -- no one will see them anyway!!

Tue 10/20/2009 7:10p | There are a few attractions there that I wouldn't mind seeing in the US. The Madagascar boat ride could be pretty good, but I'm a little disappointed that they put Waterworld there. I'm also not sure about the live donkey show... |

Sun 10/25/2009 7:34a | Ok my thoughts from reading and seeing the map is that wow this park looks on the small side. I had hyped myself up to the point I was going to be blown away by Universal Studios Singapore, and while I'm certainly impressed, I was also a bit let down at the same time.
My negative thoughts are that out of the 18 new attractions promised, only three actually seem to be worthy of a trip out to Singapore for. The Madagascar dark ride, Jurrassic Park water rapids, and the Battlestar Galactica Coaster. Although Jurrassic Park and the Coaster will probarely be a bit similar to attractions found in other US parks. On top of these three only Revenge of the Mummy would I add to the list of must see attractions. The rest of the park is filled full of carny type attractions, and shows. Also why is Shrek 3D opening here the movie is actually already dated because it was set before the second and third movies and could the park not come up with something more original than WaterWorld and that Monsters Musical show. I was considering a trip to check out the park but may end up holding out until Transformers opens in 2011.
On the plus side at least this park seems to be caterting to fans of all cuisines with asian and western fare to be found though out the park. Take a look at this blog for more details http://foodsoulrws.blogspot.co...ies.html
The shops also look like they be selling location specific merchandise. Alex the Lion plushes in Madagascar and Dinosaur inspired beach towels in Jurrassic Park.
My verdict is still very much open and I kind of want to see more, but first impression are a bit mix. |

Wed 10/28/2009 10:47p | For those who think the "Shrek" franchise has run it's course, you do know that a 3rd sequel is coming out next year, right? (Shrek Forever After, or will it be 4ever After?).
One of the newer Dreamworks franchises that I would like to see turned into an attraction would be "Monsters vs. Aliens". That might be a good fit for that "Sci-Fi City" area. |

And I can't believe thay are including the Canopy Flyer. It is the same attraction as Pteranodon Flyers at IOA and it has the SLOWEST load time thus the longest lines in the park. The thru-put is abysmal. |
