Saw this with daughter and son-in-law, grandson-4, grandaughter-14 months(we were hoping she'd fall asleep). Beaux sat still and watched (he wasn't creeped out). I thought it was a little dark, but that's the story, whateryagonnado?

finally saw this movie last night and loved it! it was a little dark in a couple of parts but most of the movies was pretty nice. Love how it shows all families have their problems but we should all still love and accept each other.

I saw it last night after Rosie O'Donnell spent nearly an hour on the premiere of her radio show yesterday morning talking about how it's the best film she's seen in 10 years.

(Rosie said she thought that to understand the film you must know that the creatures represent Max's emotions. It's a movie about emotions.)

Well. I did recognize it as a well-made film, but I can't say I enjoyed it.

In one scene, one of the Big Monkeys says, "I'm a downer."

She might as well have said, "I'm a downer. He's a downer. She's a downer. This whole show's a downer."

This is a story in which almost every character is unhappy. I don't see the value in spending an hour and a half exploring negative emotions in a movie, but others like Rosie do...

I would like to have seen more of Mark Rufalo---and I would like to know how they got the Monkeys' eyes and facial features to move. Maybe I'll check out the DVD's bonus features for that.......

Rosie gave it a 10/10. I give it a 3/10.

All times are Pacific Time (US)
