If you believe Wiki, Windows 95 was 4.0, 98 was 4.10, 2000 was 5.0, XP was 5.1, Vista was 6.0, and Windows 7 is *actually* 6.1, which would make it more of a modification of Vista than a new version: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M...releases |

| WestWind Thu 10/22/2009 6:16p | Is Windows 7 being marketed as the 7th version of Windows? I have not been reading anything much about it yet. Is it implied or assumed to be version 7 of Windows? Perhaps it's just another meaningless name like XP or Vista? They could have called it Windows G; Windows DL; Windows 2009; Windows Zista; or ?
