>>we can only hope.<<

Microsoft has a reputation for rushing their OS's into production and them "fixing" them later. I've always wondered if MS hadn't rushed Win95 into production when they did, if we wouldn't all be using IBM's OS2, which came out shortly after. OS2 was superior to Win95 in many ways but just a little too late. It had a look and feel of something about halfway between Win 3.1 and 95. I still have one machine running it.

Actually, this one is pretty good. My fiance is a computer guy (senior network engineer and IT director) and he gets early versions of everything. We have had Windows 7 on our home network for about 6 months or so. It is A LOT better than Vista!

I didn't have any problems with Vista...then again, I just have a regular home version and the settings weren't on that "layered windows"

Oddly enough windows vista is Windows 6.0 while 7 is 6.1

but I am enjoying 7 more then vista (especially because it was free through my school)

I haven't had any problems with my Vista box at home so far. I'm tempted to upgrade it to 7, but I think I'll "ghost" my system first before trying that.
