This topic is for Discussion of Latest: Disney Dream Cruise Ship Details Announced

A first-of-its kind water coaster that sends guests racing above the upper decks of the ship.  An animated turtle that engages children in conversation about life in the ocean.  A sophisticated lounge where the sun sets over the skyline of a different world-famous city each night.  When the Disney Dream debuts in early 2011, the newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet will bring to life these innovations and more.

A lot of those features look really cool. I'm not sure if I would want the video feed of the outside porthole running all the time while I'm in the cabin, but it's a nice way to get a little more light and openness into the inner rooms. The kids areas all look fun, and the bars look pretty neat too. Now, if I just had a couple thousand dollars lying around, I'd be on that ship as soon as it's in the water...

See what they can do when it is not based around an AP business model? ;-)

It seems pretty clear to me where their priorities are. If you want to be wowed by what Disney can do, it seems that taking a cruise is the way to do it.

Is that somebody getting his Disney faith back, Dave?

It waivers. I think their new cruise ship and the DVC in Hawaii look great. But if it is at the expense of the parks, it really annoys me.

Tokyo looks a good option right now, and Disneyland can still come up with the goods (looking at Halloween). But the parks are not what they once were.

Do they have fireworks on the Disney Cruises?

^^ Yes they do. I was just on the Disney Wonder and they had an at-sea fireworks display.
All times are Pacific Time (US)
