This and several other sources are reporting that a Roger Rabbit sequel is starting to seriously materialize. I for one am very excited about the thought. I absolutely love Roger Rabbit. I have to admit a bit of me is nervous though. Sometimes its better to not have a sequel...

Very true, plus there seems to be a stigma around 80's movie sequels that come out nowadays. Not a good one either. Hard to know how many people would look forward to this, excluding these boards and Zemeckis himself. The novelty is out the window because so many movies these days combine animation with live actors.

<------- seems to be the only person in this galaxy who didn't like the first one. It was conceptually cool, but that was about it.

And Roger himself proved that there's a lot more to creating an appealing character than red pants and an irritating voice.

I'm all for a return of Jessica Rabbit. It would also be interesting to see if they could incorporate some of the newer generation cartoons into the movie.

Not likely, but could you imagine Bart Simpson or Jimmy Neutron making an appearance?

Absolutely. Just watched it again last week and it's still great, BUT it's complete. No sequel needed.

"Sequels? We don't need no stinking sequels!"

The original concept was a prequel, with Roger coming to Hollywood, being discovered and meeting Jessica. And it wasn't going to be an homage to film noir, but movie musicals. One of the Alan Menken songs was on Kerry Butler's album.

The original 'Roger Rabbit' is very cool -- all those characters on the screen together -- Mickey and Bugs -- but is flawed in some ways.

First, I wish Roger hadn't been a COMPLETE idiot. I understand the wide-eyed innocence, and that he wants to make people laugh -- but even when Judge Doom enters the cafe, and his life is in severe danger, he can't shut his mouth??? So annoying.

Second, I always thought that the plot is a bit convoluted -- with RK Toon, and Judge Doom, all the goings-on, I don't know maybe I'm just an idiot.

That said, the really COOL thing about the movie was that all that animation was hand-drawn.

That opening sequence with Roger and Baby Herman is still funny. And the animation is breath-taking!
