We always like to visit the Blue Bayou when we are in DL. I read somewhere that they current split plate charge is $12. Is that correct? I am thinking it was only $4 the last time we were there. It couldn't have been more than a couple of years ago. That seems like a big jump.

<<I read somewhere that they current split plate charge is $12.>>

$12.00 is what is listed on allears.net, along with "Each diner receives either salad or gumbo." I suppose that could mean each diner received a full-sized salad or soup and that could account for the increase, but I don't know.

I read somewhere that each person would get a soup or salad. Then the main course would be divided but each person would get their own sides as well.

Yes, the split plate charge is $12.00 and you do each get a choice of Gumbo or Salad (it is no longer a wedge salad). Then you split the entree. They raised the price a few months ago but it is still well worth the price to split.

No more wedge salad? As crazy as this probably sounds, other than the atmosphere, the wedge salad was my favorite part of going to the Blue Bayou. I think we may actually skip it this trip. Does anywhere else in the park serve the wedge salad?

The wedge salad was my favorite also. As far as I know Steakhouse 55 still does the wedge salad but they are in the Disneyland Hotel and it is $8.00. That is the only other place that I've been to that has had a wedge salad.
The Blue Bayou salad is still good and it seems like a bigger salad but is leaves/lettuce mixture and has blue cheese, onion, tomatoes, and a raspberry vinaigrette, but I got ranch dressing instead.

has all the menus somewhat current although the Blue Bayou lists a wedge salad and doesn't do that anymore.

I can vouch that the raspberry vinagrette is good.

The split meal charge provides each guest with the starter (Soup or Salad) as well as the side dishes. The only thing that is split is the entree itself. Since the entrees can be rather large, as has been mentioned in several postings, this is actually not a bad deal.

My sister and I did this last week. We split the salmon dinner. Our salads were delicious. We each received an ample portion of the delectable potatoes and the same size serving of veggies you would get with a "full" size entree on our plates, and half of the salmon. With the rolls that are served on the side, this was PLENTY for us. We had considered splitting a dessert as well, but we were too full even for that, and decided to get something elsewhere much later instead. We loved it all.

Thanks for the heads up califtink! I'm going to pass this on to DD and her boyfriend who love to dine at BB but also like to save $$ if possible :)
