Well, I knew it was bound to happen eventually.

At the Tokyo Disney Resort, they officially have no idea which holiday is which, and the holidays have now COLLIDED with each other.

Ghosts and goblins adorn the windows of the Ambassador Hotel, a jolly white Christmas tree graces the Ikspiari state, shopping bags of black and orange shout "Happy Halloween" from TDL and DisneySea for all to see, while the decked out red and green Disney Store retorts with a "Merry Christmas"!

Blech.

I think this is caused by the late-running Halloween celebrations this year. This year, the Halloween events officially run Sept 10 - Nov 3, so Halloween decorations can't start to be taken down until 10pm Nov 3. But, the Christmas events start bright and early on the morning of Nov 7, so they must be getting an early start.

I thought it a bit strange and unexplained why Halloween would go to Nov 3 this year. Through Nov 1 I could understand because of the way Oct 31 fell on a Saturday this year, by why through Nov 3?

<<< the holidays have now COLLIDED with each other. >>>

Hmmm... They should have an attraction that features that theme!

***why through Nov 3***

More money, I suppose.

The "down time" days between events are usually the slowest (which makes them great days to visit, actually), so I suppose they want to keep those days as few as possible (and maybe it wouldn't have made as much sense to open up Christmas mid-week perhaps, compared to a "last chance!" to catch Halloween?).

Still, makes a right mess out of the place...cringe-worthy, really.

Why Nov 3rd? Because it's a national holiday in Japan (Culture Day). Also, OLC wanted to capitalize on the Nov. 1st Sunday as well.

Yeah, I should've mentioned that about the holiday. :p

(Ikspiari was packed today as a result)

Not according to a certain website I rely on for such information.

Maybe the Japanese are still reeling from that roasting Matt and Trey gave the country last week on South Park and, as a nation are collectively stunned.

Expect the decoration situation to be resolved once the nation recovers.

You're right. I reckon that at the time that website was last updated, the date information was correct. It was changed earlier this year.

The original press release from OLC for the 2009 events (released Oct. 2008) had an Oct. 31st ending for Halloween and Nov. 7th start for Christmas. -- MagicalNezumi

So, how WAS that episode received over there?

Or rather, since most likely has not aired yet, how has news of its airing been received?
All times are Pacific Time (US)
