Yep. And kinda surprised it hasn't made a blip here in the LP.

Everyone asleep or just non-plussed?

I am sure the three graph release and comments by Bob 'The Weatherman' Iger were intended for people to read and get excited about .... or ... or ...

Could it all have been a ploy (timing wise since most of us have known it was happening) to get it out just before the 2009 annual results have to be released by Iger and Staggs and dissected by The Street and media analysts?

So 2009 sucked? Disney will just try and focus on everything from Shanghai DL, to DCL's new Dream, to ABC hits like Modern Family (love it), the Middle (like it a lot), Cougartown (can't stand it) and Flash Forward (not sure, but it's no Lost!), to the new look Disney Stores to DCA and MK projects to Princess and Frog and Toy Story 3 and ... you get the idea, right?

As they say in media (and life) timing really is everything.

Now ... how come no one is jumping for joy at the prospect of our 12th Disney theme park and sixth MK?

I intend to be there on Opening Day! :-)

BTW, Doobie ... can we have a new Shanghai DL Board for Christmas (or whatever holidays we celebrate) if we behave? :-)

It's about time...

Geez I was beginning to think all the ticker tape they laid out for the Shanghai group at WDW almost 2 years ago was a lost cause...

I guess I can delay my Asia trip a few more years now to hit all 3 at the same time...

<<Now ... how come no one is jumping for joy at the prospect of our 12th Disney theme park and sixth MK?>>

Because domestic parks will continue to suck compared to the Asian parks, which get all the cool new stuff.

HKDL gets Mystic Manor.

WDW MK gets a glorified meet-n-greet.

Yeah, I'm really excited. Whoop-dee-freakin-do.

Why are people excited by this?

^^I dunno ... it's only the most significant Disney parks and resorts development of the 21st century.

But, hey, we can talk about DVC construction pics ... or the best character breakfast at WDW ... or how little is happening at WDW these days instead.

I think there's a certain level of apathy on LP all round these days, but I also think it's because it's been a long time coming. I wonder if most people's thoughts echo -em's,

"It's about time..."!!!

Also, I've noticed in the past apart from a few LPers who travel or live abroad, most here don't look much beyond the domestic parks!!!

I'll chime in here: Hong Kong Disney is by most reports a snooze, I suspect Shanghai will be similar if not moreso knowing current company trends, and there's little chance that I'll ever get to either one anyway.

And if I may be so bold as to say ... if there's this much apathy about a new Disney park, it's Disney that has a problem, not us. ;-)

I will never venture to Shanghai to visit a Disneyland theme park. Never.

So, while it's 'interesting' to hear about Disney Business news, for me personally, it's like digging in to that big entertainment complex in Dubai.

It doesn't cause me to go into Foamer mode.
