So, I wandered over to Magic since I had heard Spirit was posting a bit over there, and I have to admit I'm shocked at what I've read over there:
<<Exactly ... and UNI has some amazing things headed down the pike. Potter Phase II has grown so large that it has outgrown IOA ... it's like in that movie Jaws 'we're going to need a bigger park' ... or is that 'we're going to need to borrow some land for an existing one?'>>
<<I also greatly enjoy Twister (something about flying cows!), but it isn't going to be around for long ... I hear a big monkey is making a comeback in true Hollywood fashion!>>
<<I don't know that I'd go that far. But WWoHP is absolutely the most impressive O-town theme park development of this century BY FAR ... and just wait for Phase II ... so big it's going to be in TWO PARKS! (no, I am not kidding! kiss the plastic sharkie bye-bye!)>>
When someone brought up being sad at losing Jaws:
<<All I can say is if there's one thing scarier than a shark it's a woman with the initials JKR when she sees plans she doesn't like!>>
Apparently JKR wasn't happy with the first plans. And these are some new ones.
<<It looks like Transformers isn't coming here, after all ... basically because there's too much other stuff on the way, including Potter's HUGE, mind-blowing expansion.>>
<<I haven't seen the plans (and am not going to go over them like a fanboi with the Fantasyland redo art when I do) ... but, yes, they will be removing and moving quite a bit ... but this satisfies Rowling and allows UNI to reap Potter benefits in two gates instead of one.
And I am very much looking forward to it.
Jaws has had its time ...>>
<<Nope. Both expanding in IOA and BEYOND ... and I just heard it this week, but have had it confirmed by two others.
That be the plan ... apparently connected by the Hogwarts Express.
But Amity, Jaws and Fear Factor stage (which isn't used most of the time) would cease to exist under the plan.
Insanity. Complete and utter insanity. Of course it could be insane and completely awesome. But Lee had just teased that they were looking at transportation between expansions so the Hogwarts Express could be it.
So what say you? Do you like the idea? What else could we see coming to USF along with Potter?
Hopefully Spirit pops in for a few posts as well.

I read somewhere a long time ago about joining both parks via Potter. I'm not surprised and HP does work in both parks thematically, but I'm not sure about this. In terms of story I'm not sure how it will work and will it affect "people through the turnstyles" at either park. I could see this damaging IOA's attendance in that sense as people come in through the back door from Uni.
I think I like TDR's philosophy of certain characters "belonging" in either TDL or TDS. It seems more cohesive.
For me the jury's out. It sounds like Disney was well rid of JKR and her demands!!!

Considering Iger has been kicking himself for years that he didn't land Potter...I don't think that's the case.

This would make my Dad extremely happy. When we were there in May, we talked about what they needed to do was take over part of US. Our thought differed from these planes, but we were thinking The Mummy Returns partially took place in London, so retheming the NY area to London/British Museum would be an easy thing to do.
It would spread out HP loving crowds across both parks, and create the distance you would expect between Diagon Alley/London and Hogwarts. We dreamed about having the Hogwarts Express to transfer people between both parks, but if Universal were to actually do it!
It's nice to have something to "dream big" about, since Disney isn't the place for it anymore.

Not sure what I think about the rumors. Twister and Jaws were long-time favorites... I will miss them. On the other hand I will enjoy the return of Kong. The existing WWOHP is so FANTASTIC... will they be able to maintain the quality or will it dilute the experience? Seeing as how Uni has done great things lately I guess I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

Ambitious as hell, I'd say.
I thought I'd read somewhere that Spielberg felt strongly about keeping Jaws in the park, because it's his baby. But maybe JKR has more clout at this point?
I would love to see something replace the Fear Factor stage, and Kong for Twister is an upgrade...in fact, I'd prefer that to Transformers.
And the idea of having transportation between the two sections makes it sound like Uni is dialing it up to 11 on phase two.

This would be awesome...but it's not likely we would ever make it back to Florida to see the expansion. :(

I should add that prefer this plan over the plan to take over more of the LC.
Can you Potter fans imagine arriving in Hogsmeade ON the Hogwarts Express? That would be "Magical".
