I thought this film was suppose to be on schedule to hit theaters this year.

What's going on with it?

I thought after it was announced at some comic book convention in San Diego in 2010 that by now ... was wrapping up filming.

But I have feeling .. no filming has been done .. and in fact ... development has stalled.

Can anyone shed some light on the status of it?

Thanks.

It was either last Oct or Nov where I saw his interview with MTV.com - he said that he was just wrapping up the screenplay, so I doubt filming has even begun yet.

He was trying to collaborate with Jon Favreau because he was doing a film based on WDW or the MK or something like that (Don't quote me on that one, though LOL)

By collaborate, I mean release dates for both his and Jon's movies.

If he's just wrapping up writing the screenplay .... then I wouldn't expect the film to hit theaters till 2014. We know the film will be heavy in special effects .. which take significantly longer than live-action shooting. So .. at this point .. I'm just throwing my arms and hands up, and forget about this for the next 2 years ... Because that's how long it's going to take before it's in the can, and ready for theaters!

I feel the same about Star Trek. I was expecting the second film (with the new crew) out this year. Now it's going to be 2013, or '14.

Odd that anyone would want to do this after the 1st Haunted Mansion film

I don't find it odd at all.

The Eddie Murphy version was awful .. and universally panned.

Somebody needed to jump in ... and give audiences and fans a film worthy of the famous attraction.

I wish Sony would do that with the awful Bewitched movie they put out several years ago with Nicole Kidman. The famous, classic tv series deserves a good film, worthy of the show that ran 8 years. That film was universally panned, and hated ... and Sony's misfire should be fixed .. by creating another film - This time, done right!

<-- actually thought the "Bewitched" movie with Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell was okay.

(hangs head in shame)

Going on to del Torres' wiki page ... and looking at confirmed projects he has for the next few years ... seems this one has been killed off! :(

Anyone know any details .. whether it MAY happen, still?
