According to an interview in the French newspaper Le Figaro, Euro Disney SCA CEO Philippe Gas said that Disney is opening two new attractions inside WDSP in 2014.

The first one is the long awaited Ratatouille dark ride and the second one will be smaller, but there aren't more infos yet.

Since the licencing agreement with TWDC on Armageddon is running out and Mr. Gas doesn't want to renew a 15 year old licence, I guess we will get a replacement of Armageddon.

I think an Armageddon change out is likely. There would need to be very few changes to theme it to a Marvel property like Fantastic 4.

If we’re looking at adding capacity, I’m guessing this will be something completely new that ties in with an existing area. Perhaps a Remy spinner (or similar) turning Ratatouille into a miniland?

What disappoints me slightly is that this means Rat… isn’t getting as much spent on it as we thought.

I won't be getting my hopes up too much. Since we've only seen construction begin on the Ratatouille site it's very unlikely we will be seeing something of major importance. Remember Disney has a completely different idea of what it considers attractions to the online fan community. I remember back when the expansion at Hong Kong Disneyland was first announced and Disney claim the three themed areas would add up to 30 new attractions, play and entertainment experiences.

I guess we will see another cheap carnival ride themed to a Pixar character added to Toon Studios.

You have to see it that way. WDI calculates in US Dollars, but ED SCA has a budget of 150 Million Euros and with the current exchange rate, that makes about 200 million US Dollars. A good Disney dark ride is about 100 to 150 mio Dollars and it is said that Ratatouille will cost 150 mio Dollars. That leaves 50 millions for a smaller ride.

I'd quite like to see one of the interactive adventures that Disney are rolling out elsewhere in Paris. That would be completely new and more interesting than a carnival ride.

It's funny that we're already expecting a redressed carni ride. What does that say about DLP?!!!

There are also speculations that Philharmagic could replace Animagique. Another rumour is that a new attraction is replacing Armageddon, whch would actually make sense, because Mr. Gas said in a round table discussion, that the licence on that movie is running out and he doesn't want to invest in such an old licence.

I would like to see the Production Courtyard placemaking that was announced a few years ago with the opening of TOT.

That's the easiest and cheapest way to add more rides, especially to Toon Studios. You just need to add a character to a carnival ride and you got a new attraction.

But that can't be the only way to add cheap attractions surely?!!!

I know, but that's how Disney sometimes works, especially when money is an issue.

Maybe my expectations are just too low, but I hope they come up with something better.
