Not sure if this has popped up here before, but Al Lutz is at it again today talking about a new E Ticket attraction slated to sit where Innoventions is now.
I wonder if this means the complete demolition of the Carousel Theater building and its rotating mechanism, or if the rotating theater somehow gets re-used for a fourth (!) time and survives to tell the tale. Perhaps as a rotating pre-show or lobby that moves you to the loading area, or something?
It will just seem weird after sitting there for almost 50 years for that building to not be there. As I have fond memories of both Carousel of Progress and America Sings, I will miss it if it goes.
Innoventions, on the other hand, is a horrible waste of space and won't be missed for one moment. If anything represents the cheap and heartless Paul Pressler era at Disneyland, it's 1998 Innoventions. With Cynthia Harriss in a pants suit and plastic grin out there flogging the latest corporate exhibit's media day from 2000 to 2003. Good riddance to bad rubbish, both the executives and the "attraction" they gave us.

It's a complete waste of space now, but the exterior sure is pretty at night.

It's an Avengers attraction, I just know it!

Al sez ...
>>the first big project in Tomorrowland that will gut Innoventions<<
"Gut" generally means "building still standing". Perhaps I'm over-parsing?
In any case, I sure hope it has something to do with Buzz Lightyear. (/drippingsarcasm)

Generally, yes I would agree with that. However, Al tends to use more flowery language to make his articles more 'interesting' and have more 'personality', so I could also see that as being one of his personal touches to the story.
Either way, we've been hearing rumors about them taking out Innoventions and reworking that entire side of TL for years. I'm not saying that it won't happen, but I'm not holding my breath for it to happen in the immediate future.

When I read his article today I had to stop when he wrote about the protesters. It almost read like he was encouraging the protesters to do a better job and telling them where they could go to have an impact on Disneyland.
Makes me wonder what is in his mind? Is he trying to report information, or make the news tailor fit his rants?

A little of column A, a little more of column B...

So as to the "re-formatting" of the eastern berm, and the "gutting" of Innoventions (I will miss the theater itself, not the show) what else will be sacrificed? Any confirmations about the other two longtime TL attractions that might fall forever? (and they shouldn't have to!!!)
As to the bringing back of the Main Street Electrical Parade, oh, please, please and please!!!

I'd be fine with a NEW Main Street Electrical Parade. With at least a few new floats representing some of the later animated features.
