They wouldn't necessarily have $80,000 on hand to buy it, if they wanted to, would they? And for that matter - If you are the curator for that museum, there's surely just so many funds .. to chase items down, that come up. I doubt they have millions sitting in the bank - out chasing after items whether on Ebay or somewhere else. |

Wed 8/8/2012 9:05a | Yes, it is a shame that Glenn Beck is the new owner. My personal feeling is that the people who auctioned the item should have returned it to Walt's family, since it never belonged to them in the first place.
If Walt's daughter had known of this, I would imagine she would have picked it up at auction, as her pockets are probably deeper than Beck's, but I could be wrong.
I was at an auction that featured original O-Zell Jelly stock certificates that belonged to Walt and his parents, Elias and Flora. I thought they would be too expensive, and did not bother bidding. They ended up selling well within my price range, and I still feel like a total idiot. |
