The first time I went to Disneyland was probably 1999, with my kiddo. I was a single custodial dad, really really struggling to make ends meet.
I was 23 and it was her 5th birthday present. I scrimped and saved and let the electric bill pile up in order to get her there.
We stayed at the Westcoast Anaheim (Now the Sheraton) and they had a closed circuit channel that played a loop of what you could do at Disneyland with "A different version of "There's Magic in the Stars" on it. I remember waking up throughout the night to catch her turning the tv on to see Disneyland a little bit more...
Kiddo is getting ready to graduate H.S., and I would really like to get my hands on that footage, and take her to DL and on a cruise to celebrate...is there any sort of sub-group that collects this type of items or footage?
I would love to show it to her, and it will probably make me cry...in a good way.

I can't help you with the footage, but thanks for sharing such a lovely memory! Your story made me smile.

I am with you on the video. I wish we had the type of video cameras we have now back in 1981. I think there were the big clunky ones but my family did not have the money to afford one.
Anyway I would have loved to have video of Disneyland in 1982. That was the last trip that I took with my grandparents. I can remember how much fun it was, especially with my grandfather sadly, he passed away less than two months later.
Good luck and I hope you find some video.

Hey there CC! Great to see you here.
It seems there would be SOMEONE out there who has this. Are you looking for the song, or the whole video?

Hi DlandDug,
It's always good to be here. Good to see that some folks have stuck around. Traffic here has gotten very slow. Miss all the old posters!
I'd like the video, but also the song or any combination thereof.
The best part about the song on the video was that it said, "There's magic in the stars no matter where you, here at Disneyland!"...which I believe is different than the music from the fireworks. I never saw "Believe", as fireworks were the time to do rides with short lines back then for the kiddo...
I'd appreciate any help anyone has with this.

OK... the recalled lyric led me down the rabbit hole. And after much googlin', I can give you...
...about the first five seconds of the "pop" version, used in the commercial. It's weird. And it may still turn up in a full version. Here's what I found:

Or is it? The comments thread say it is the outro music for "Wishes." I am not familiar with that one...

Listening to it right now, I'll get back to you to see if this it.
