Walt Disney Animation Studios (WDAS) taps Jennifer Lee to join Chris Buck at the helm of its 53rd full-length animated feature “Frozen,” which is slated for the big screen on Nov. 27, 2013. Lee, who has contributed to the film’s screenplay, is one of the screenplay writers of this year’s hit arcade-hopping adventure “Wreck-It Ralph.” |

I was told last week that Buck had been sacked entirely so I guess they changed their minds with so little time to go before release.
Pixar kicked Brenda Chapman off Brave more than 18 months before the film was due to be released. |

I'm inclined to blame Lasseter for this. Seems he cannot determine what 'perceived problems' exist in a film until it's almost completed.

Too busy hawking his wife and goofing around in the parks. I really wonder whether he is getting sidelined. |

I don't know Jennifer Lee at all - and she isn't one imdb which makes me think she has no animation experience at all - I hope imdb is wrong.
Wreck-it Ralph isn't officially a hit either - it has just passed $150m and might just make it to $200m. WDAS dumped $200m on it plus a hefty $80m marketing budget. |

| Qindarka Thu 11/29/2012 6:01p | leemac, do you happen to have any more information on the film other than this and the scenes you watched those months ago?
Thanks. |

So if it isn't Lasseter, who's firing the directors?
I'm pretty sure John was the one who fired Pinkava from Rat. And he definitely pushed Lewis aside and theoretically 'fixed' Cars 2 as the second director. I don't know about Brave or Frozen, but I'd be surprised if he didn't have a hand in those decisions, as Executive Producer.
