Wise decision Hokie, although I'm going to go there and say it will be a major loss if the swinging cars have been axed.

Oh yes. If that were to happen it would make the ride a very middling and mediocre effort.

I'd be curious to know if the swinging part of the ride was mentioned alongside the presentation of the video.

Honestly, releasing something like that video -- it really shouldn't be released publicly.

It just looks cheesy and weird.

Kinda like my prom photo;)

Sure hope it swings..that was the D23 convention selling point, after all.

I really don't know how much of a difference the swinging will make. It looks like the turns are banked pretty well, which does the same thing as having the cars swing. Yes, it would also reduce the stress on the vehicles to have the load on the car always roughly at the same angle, but it seems like a bit of overkill when the gimmick is that it swings. I also wonder if they're having trouble finding a way to stabilize the cars during loading and unloading, which might lead to questioning the gimmick.

Then again, it could have all been discussed in the presentation. Unfortunately, they did a good job of adding in catchy music and editing the video professionally, even though the content seems very in-progress. This makes it easier for it to circulate online and give folks a really bad first impression (correctly or otherwise) of the upcoming attraction.

The shadows of the dwarfs marching while going up the lift hill might be a nice effect. Since they didn't show the entire ride, I'll hold any judgement until it opens. My guess is that it will be a fun "C" ticket ride, but not much more. It's still better having this than Aurora's Coloring Cottage presented by Crayola! :)

Imagine riding Big Thunder in ore cars that swung from side to side and it's obvious that the swinging would make a dramatic difference in the ride. All you have to do is compare the D23 video to the new one to see the difference.

Maybe they'll provide options...

A line for Fast Pass, the stand by line, and then a line for 'swingers'
