I've had differing responses from friends about New Years Day at Disneyland... on side says packed, you are crazy, the other side says busy NY's eve but not NY's day until late... football, hang overs... people show up for the fireworks...

What have you seen re: crowds New Years Day?

I've gone on New Year's Day for about the last four years or so. The crowds haven't been bad at all. In fact, once I discovered that it was a relatively quiet time to go, I've continued to go on that day. (I won't this year, as I want to go see the Disneyland Resort's Rose Parade float at Post Parade viewing and I have to work the next da.) Last year was busier than the previous years for some reason. But, still not crazy busy like the days before and after Christmas.

ORGOCH: Gotta agree with DBitz2 up there. New Year's Day is when most folks is sleepin' it off! It's the same way at Walt Dizzy Whirl. (I only knows this 'cause my two looney sisters told me; I'm always one a the drunks sufferin' from a hang over the next day.) No Spaced out Mountains fer me!

Thank you for the info

we will be extra loud for all the people with hang overs ;-)

Oooo... on New Years Day do they hand out barf bags for the rough rides?
heh heh

Rose parade... I can only imagine how cold that is going to be unless we get a big climate shift... do the flowers freeze?
WoM, your sisters drag you along instead of leaving you in the dungeon to sleep it off? Kindness or cruelty? ;-) "Come along dearie, let's do the TEA CUPS again"...

I learned my limits in my 20's (early) so I miss the "day after" concept...

The weather forcast for Pasadena on Jan 1 is a high of 64, so I'd guess it would be in the low to mid fifties during the parade. Light jacket wether for me.

Sounds like the crowds are somewhat improved, but a decade ago, the crowd were AWFUL. I worked as a attractios host then.

NYE was horrible yesterday. I didnt really want to be there, but it was out last day and all i wanted to do was a few rides. Just like WDW the crowds were disgusting and i am so happy to be back home.

Hope the next few days will be good.
