The "secret project" that Brad Bird will be directing, starring George Clooney, written by Damon Lindelof, will be called Tomorrowland. It's been called "1952" as a working title for some time.

It's told to be a sci-fi flick - but few details are out there.

I have a hunch that the imagineers are hoping to re-define what Tomorrowland is with the film, should the concept be grand the the film a success.

Brad Bird.

Tomorrowland movie.

Brad Bird.

Tomorrowland movie.

Sounds like a swirling explosive mass of awesome and suck, the motion picture equivalent of matter and anti-matter.

Why would Brad Bird agree to participate in this project, which you KNOW might as well be subtitled "The Executive Meddling Movie"? Are they holding his family hostage or something? Was the next Winnie the Pooh reboot already spoken for?

This was already a weird feature - a story from an ex-stunt man with limited writing background and Damon Lindelof. I really didn't care for his Prometheus story so I don't have particularly high hopes for this feature at all.

The name is just plain awful. I noticed there was no comment in the THR report about the Jungle Cruise movie - we can only pray that one sank near the Schweitzer Falls.

I gather Jon Favreau's much ballyhooed Magic Kingdom movie is DOA too - so there is a God after all.

I actually like the name, of course. What's troubling to me is that it's been tacked on a film that has no organic connection to Tomorrowland at all.

There have been rumors about this for a while right? I think this is the first time I've seen this crew (who seem like an odd combination, especially for this project) tied to it, but I seem to recall reading about a TL movie a while back.

I can only assume that this is what evolved from the Space Mountain movie that I read about when they first announced the POTC, HM, and CB movies (the 4 were announced together, but Space Mountain was never made). Then again, since that was well over a decade ago, this could be a completely unrelated project. Much like those movies, I'd say there's about a 33% chance of it being awful, 33% chance of it being campy fun, and a 33% chance of it being great; here's hoping!

I think this might be something different Ferret. Up until now this film was called "1952".

I would have never expected George Clooney to star in a Disney movie.

All times are Pacific Time (US)
