This topic is for Discussion of Latest: Disney Parks to Change Minimum Age Requirement for Visiting the Parks Alone

According to WDWMagic.com, starting March 23rd guests under the age of 14 will need to be accompanied by a guest age 14 or older to visit all gated attractions including all both parks at the Disneyland Resort, all four major parks at Walt Disney World, both water parks and DisneyQuest. Prior to this change, guests under the age of 7 needed to be accompanied by a guest over the age of 14.

Hmm. Wonder why they felt the need for this change?

Because parents were using the Disney Parks as a replacement for summer camp/day care/supervision.

I'm surprised it took this long.

Serious? I can't fathom just dropping my kids off at Disneyland and letting them roam free.

ecdc,

I guess you haven't been in the Park about a half hour after school gets out. It's rediculous.

An annual pass would be cheaper than a summer camp program and people think nothing can go wrong inside a Disney Park. I'm surprised it took Disney this long.

I love that Disney is cracking down on this along with the enforcement of FP return times and improved security for multi-day tickets holders. There have been more than a few times over the past 10 years a trip to the park felt similar to visiting a local mall.

Now, if they could just do something about the blanketeers who camp out before the fireworks and Fantasmic performances...

We've all seen the teens when they are in a group. They act like idiots trying to show off for their friends. I have noticed other park goer's more and more tell these kids to shut up when they are being loud and cussing up a storm while waiting in a line. I 100% agree about the campers it needs to be stopped, or no more then like an hr before show.
