Super-trivia question that almost no one will know (besides which, it doesn't belong in this category): In Mulan, who was "Eric"? |

I am a little surprised that you didn't explain the answer more fully. I am kind of used to seeing folks do that. But you didn't, and I'm feeling a bit bratty at the moment, so I'll just leave it as is and not explain either. Some readers will be saying "Oh, yeah!" while others will merely be scratching their heads, trying to figure out how obscure this question was.
And to explain the super-trivia question. This is something that would be known almost exclusively by the animators of "Mulan."
Eric was the soldier patrolling along the Great Wall in the opening sequence - the first character seen in the movie. They named him that in their own notes, apparently to have a way to refer to him. Clearly if he had had to be named in the movie, that is not what they would have called him.
How do I know? Am I a Disney animator? (I WISH!!) Nope, but I got a real find off of eBay about a year ago. Someone had some sheets of developmental art used in the preparation of the movie that they were selling. He had a number of batches of art from Mulan. He put one up for auction; I was the only bidder and got about 30 pages for like $15.
He was discouraged that it hadn't drawn (pun intended) more interest, so he offered me the rest that he had for another $75. Once the first set arrived, I saw that it was real, and I jumped at the chance to get the rest. All told it is something like 150-200 pages of authentic Disney art.
Some pages even have a stamp on them that says something like "Property of Disney. Not to be published prior to the release of this feature." Others have a logo of the original title "The Legend of Mulan."
Some of it is early, crude stuff, some pages are story/sequence development (for instance, Mulan was supposed to be shown riding through a field while hurrying to the Matchmaker's - that is why there is straw in her hair when she arrives in the village), and some are final character worksheets. One set that is particularly interesting shows a drummer in the parade (in the Imperial City) beating his drum as he walks along. It is only when you've gone through the sequence and compare the first page to the last that you realize he has also been getting larger due to walking toward you.
This is one of my greatest Disney treasures, and while animation fans are impressed with it, even non-animation fans (like my brother and his wife) find it interesting.
But enough about that. (Besides, you're probably itching to go check out eBay right about now, right?)
You're up, basil fan.
How interesting. Right now, I am in a baseball frame of mind (I live in the Bay Area - go Giants!) and it seems backwards that only once basil fan has scored that she is told "You're up."

BTW, Devil Dan was the name of a TV series in the Barefoot Executive, a film about network television. I have no doubt that there are real chimps employed by the major networks.
NEXT QUESTION:
Name the cartoon short in which Goofy kisses Minnie.
