| RainbowBoy1019 Tue 9/10/2002 6:01p | <------Beethoven's Sixth Symphony "Pastoral".
On a side note, this symphony is quite interesting for two reasons: Beethoven composed this one and the famous 5th (with possibly the most famous four notes of music in history) at the same time. One was radically different from anything the world had ever seen (5) and the other was regular classical (6), and while beautiful, it isn't important in the sense that it wasn't anything different musically. The other intersting note about this symphony is that this is the only one where Beethoven gave his audience interpretations about what the music means. He later revoked the interpretations. During the time he was composing the 5th and the 6th, he was beginning to go deaf. You can hear his struggle and pain in the 5th. |
