| DDMAN26 Thu 8/21/2003 10:25a | All the films I've listed are from the last week or so. I even have more to list. Let me just various snack were or weren't consumed. Movie theatre, dvd or tv is where I've seen the films. So without further adieu:
Hardball-I was really surprised how much I enjoyed this film. It's kind of like The Bad News Bears meets Boyz in the Hood. Keanu Reeves while certainly not the world's greatest thespian does a decent job here. The baseball scenes are pretty good, the kids do a good job here. Also bonus points for Diane Lane looking lovely as always. Any film that features the Notorious B.I.G on the soundtrack is all right with me. A little side note and warning. This film is not for little kids there's good amount of swearing in the film and several scenes show the hard life kids in the inner city experience. It takes a lot for a movie to get me choked up. ET, Hoosiers, Mr. Holland's Opus are a select few that do Without spoiling the ending, let me say Hardball is now on that list. Recommended
Bowling For Columbine-Don't waste your time. While the film presents some compelling arguments for gun control. It is all so one side. Perhaps if Michael Moore presented both sides of the gun control issue, let viewers decide I would have recommended it. But he only presents his anti-gun stance, I think the goal of any documentary like this is that it should let viewers make up their own minds. Plus there's a scene in the film where he interviews a sick looking Charlton Heston. No matter what you think of his politics, the way Moore treated Heston was pretty despicable. Not recommended
Vanilla Sky-If anyone knows what this film is about I'd like to know. Besides it's pretty boring anyways. Not recommended
Pirates of the Carribean-Still great the third time. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Varsity Blues-What can I say about one of the greatest sports movies ever. That's right, I think this is a phenomenal film. It's got great characters, it's funny, dramatic. It's got the required big game at the end. Bonus points for the use of the Foo Fighters "My Hero" towards the end. Pass the goosebumps please. Of course the legendary whip cream bikini scene. Just a classic classic classic film. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I remember being terrified the first time I saw this. Now, some of the parts are funny. Not particularly an Arnold fan, but still like t and t3.
I love you too, sweetheart... |
