| visionary Sun 8/31/2003 2:21p | I saw Freaky Friday ..uh ;) ... last Friday .. and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! So you all think I harp about the negative in Disney too much huh??? ;) ... the "full time" pollyanna in me came out for that 2 hours of fun .. and I have absolutely no problem in saying .. I got swept up into the story and the characters so much .. I was a little teary-eyed near the end of the movie when they were at the pre-wedding reception!
No kidding :)
It was fun seeing a lot of stomping grounds from my own immediate surroundings .. since the film was ALL shot here in the LA area .. among locations on Sunset Blvd.
Jamie Lee Curtis, and the girl who played the daughter were absolutely convincing in their reverse roles. Excellent casting. The direction was tight. Perfectly woven for this lighthearted comedy. A HUGE improvement over the 1977 version which I remember seeing in a double feature with Peter Pan at a drive-in (Highway 39 Drive-in) on Beach Blvd .. just south of the 405 San Diego Freeway. ahhh memories.
This version of "Freaky Friday" has repeat value ... as I will see this again either on Home Video, or again in theaters soon. |

This is a dubover of the original "The Blob." You see Steve McQueen, but--that's not his voice! MST3K style stuff, some pretty funny moments. |
