Enjoyable and funny. Perhaps not as funny as I expected, but still good and clever.

A good movie. A little on the formulaic side, but well acted and fun to watch.

A great movie, as always. (However, the "new song" was pretty atrocious, not only unnecessary, but actually distracting and grating...) |

I am not sure, but it's got to be the same reason I can remember song lyrics from when I was 12, but can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday..
Which means when she's about 25, she'll still know the lyrics to Morning Report and will likely be humming/singing it for no reason and for the life of her, won't know why... :) |

I must be the only person in America who absolutely did not care for this movie. I found all the characters to be irritatingly self-centered and unsympathetic with the exception of Roxie's husband--who was a spineless loser. At the end of the movie, I kept hoping he would emerge from the audience with a Tommy gun and shoot Roxie and Velma. I felt that only Queen Latifah and Catherine Zeta-Jones were fairly convincing in their performances, Renee Zellweger can't sing or dance her way out of a paper bag and Richard Gere, well let's just say he was incredibly mis-cast and leave it at that.
But given all the Oscars it won, I must be wrong. |
