John Wayne, Bruce Dern, Roscoe Lee Brown, Robert Carradine in a really great western from 1971 about a cattleman (Wayne) who is forced to recruit a bunch of schoolboys to help on a cattle drive. Bruce Dern is the maniacal bad guy "Long Hair", Roscoe Lee Brown is in charge of the chuck wagon, and it's fun to see Lizzie McGwire's dad in a movie when he was a bit younger than she is now. The score by John Williams is sensational, and sounds crisp and clear on the DVD.
This movie spawned a short-lived TV series on ABC. |

Love this movie! They did an awesome job on it, although, I could have done without the new Morning Report song.. I definitely prefer the original version over this, but everything else was very well done.. And the Enhanced Home Theater Audio Mix is friggin' cool!

Just a fun movie.. The music is good and the acting is well done.. I've probably watched this movie about 15 -20 times now, including in the theater and it still doesn't get old.. :)
