| sarahwithbaloo Wed 5/31/2006 2:24a | I've read a couple in my absence from the boards but I have just started 'Love and War' John Jakes I think this one may take me a while as I have a feeling it is the longest book I have attempted to read.
While I am here has anyone read any Diana Gabaldon books as the series starting with Outlander(or Cross stitch as it is named in the UK) looks really interesting, as I said I'm OK for reading at the moment but thinking of the future. Any reviews let me know. |

| Tinkerbell819 Wed 5/31/2006 7:08a | I just finished reading "All the Presidents' Children: Triumph and Tragedy in the Lives of America's First Families", by Doug Wead. I LOVED it! It was fascinating. I had read "The Raising of a President: The Mothers and Fathers of Our Nation's Leaders" a few months ago and loved that one, too. I would highly recommend both of these books to anyone, even if you really aren't that interested in American History, I think you would find these books intriguing. I learned so many unusal things, but unfortunately, I will probably forget a lot of them by next week! lol

I picked up Count Down at Costco, and got so absorbed in the story I finished it in two days. Great read! However, I realized shortly into the book, that Count Down is the second book with these characters, taking place 4 years after the first. So, I had to go find the first one, which is Blown Away.
Ever been hesitant to pick up a book because you know you'll lose hours of the day once you do? That's what's happening to me right now. I keep forcing myself to put it down and do a chore. I then reward myself with a few pages, LOL. The chores need to get done! |

| MissCandice Fri 6/2/2006 10:04a | I just picked up Stephen Hawking's "A Briefer History of Time". I always wanted to read the original but was nervous about all math. This is not a dumbed down version but it makes the information more accessible (per the inside jacket). |

I love Patricia Cornwell! Today I bought her new one "At Risk."
As soon as I'm finished reading Broken Prey I'll get to the new Cornwell book.
