I've read a couple in my absence from the boards but I have just started 'Love and War' John Jakes I think this one may take me a while as I have a feeling it is the longest book I have attempted to read.

While I am here has anyone read any Diana Gabaldon books as the series starting with Outlander(or Cross stitch as it is named in the UK) looks really interesting, as I said I'm OK for reading at the moment but thinking of the future.
Any reviews let me know.

Just finished The 5th Horseman by James Patterson. I love his books (except the ones about the kids with wings) In the middle of The Predator by Patricia Cornwell.

I just finished reading "All the Presidents' Children: Triumph and Tragedy in the Lives of America's First Families", by Doug Wead. I LOVED it! It was fascinating. I had read "The Raising of a President: The Mothers and Fathers of Our Nation's Leaders" a few months ago and loved that one, too. I would highly recommend both of these books to anyone, even if you really aren't that interested in American History, I think you would find these books intriguing. I learned so many unusal things, but unfortunately, I will probably forget a lot of them by next week! lol

I just started Blown Away by Iris Johansen. It's from her suspense collection, not her original romances, lol.

I picked up Count Down at Costco, and got so absorbed in the story I finished it in two days. Great read! However, I realized shortly into the book, that Count Down is the second book with these characters, taking place 4 years after the first. So, I had to go find the first one, which is Blown Away.

Ever been hesitant to pick up a book because you know you'll lose hours of the day once you do? That's what's happening to me right now. I keep forcing myself to put it down and do a chore. I then reward myself with a few pages, LOL. The chores need to get done!

Predator is a great book! I've read all of the Patricia Cornwell's. She's one of my favorites. Love Kay Scarpetta!

Oh crud, and LOL! It's not Blown Away I'm reading right now, it's Blind Alley. Blown Away is another Johansen suspense I bought along with Blind Alley yesterday.

I just picked up Stephen Hawking's "A Briefer History of Time". I always wanted to read the original but was nervous about all math. This is not a dumbed down version but it makes the information more accessible (per the inside jacket).

I love Patricia Cornwell! Today I bought her new one "At Risk."

As soon as I'm finished reading Broken Prey I'll get to the new Cornwell book.
