| goodgirl Sun 4/25/2004 7:04p | I'm so excited! I just bought Jonathon Kellerman's newest book at Costco. It will be my reading material on the airplane to Southern California this coming Friday! |

| Kimmy Kay Tue 5/4/2004 9:30p | I am reading the "The DaVinci Code" by Dan Brown. I just started it late last night and I am almost done. What a page turner.
I also find it interesting how the plot's characters implicate Walt Disney & Co. as a priory of sion follower calling Walt a modern day DaVinci in trying to keep alive the truth (mostly through Sleeping Beauty and the Little Mermaid) of the lost sacred feminine (sorry if this has been discussed before here, posts were lost and I haven't been reading this thread from the beginning). Good Stuff. |

I am going to start "Bet Me" by Jennifer Crusie tonight. I have read a few of her books before and they have been entertaining "fluff" books to read. I'll let you guys know how this one is once I get into it. |

Have you read _Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister_? That was the very first Maguire book I read. I had not been expecting it to read like historical fiction (a genre I'm not much into), but I really enjoyed it. The audiobook version is great because there's an interesting interview with the author on the last cassette.
I also have read his latest (the title is eluding me at the moment!), the one about Snow White, but that just didn't grab me like _Confessions..._ Maybe I'm just an oddball, though, as all of the reviews I have read for it were quite strong.
>>I'm now reading "The Eyre Affair" by Jasper Fforde. It's extremely funny and very cleverly written. Sort of an alternate universe, mystery with time-travel.<<
Chedstro, that one was interesting because it was one of those books that read like sci fi, but escaped the label. (Not that I am saying anything against SF, but it's interesting how some books will get tagged with specific genre labels while others don't.) I've only read the first book, but there's also a sequel, _Lost in a Good Book_. Sounds like an apt name! <g>
>>am now reading Tam Lin by Paula Dean.<<
FaMulan, is this a part of that fairy tale series put out by Terri Windling? A fellow library volunteer spoke very highly of the series (with the exception of the Bluebeard book) and said in particular that she thought I should read the title dedicated to Tam Lin. (Along with someone else, we had been having an interesting dialogue about fairy tale inspired books, the gruesomeness of some of the original stories, etc.) |

| BlazesOfFire Wed 5/5/2004 6:04p | Henrik Ibsen's "A Doll House" (a play) for pleasure and "Othello" by Shakespeare for school for the second time *cries* |

Yes, JenniBarra, it is and I mistyped the author's name, it's Pamela, not Paula. My husband and I have had to replace our paperback three times now as we continue to reread it at least once a year. It's one of those that gets us in the mood for Ren Faire. I've also read the short story collection of The Fairytale series and Briar Rose, but Tam Lin is my favorite. |
