There was a nice article he wrote last month about how much his life has changed since last year when the book was released. Here is a link for it: http://www.philly.com/mld/inqu irer/15022742.htm
It really is amazing when you read about all of the crazy things Marley did and how expensive it must have been to keep him, and then, as it turns out, Marley has made him a fortune! (I just loved that book! :) |

| JohnS1 Fri 8/11/2006 10:50p | Great column by John Grogan. The literary agent he mentions (Laurie Abkemeier) is my literary agent too.
So, of course, all we not-best-selling clients of hers are giving her a bad time for not helping to make the rest of us famous too! I'm crossing my fingers that my next book will be as successful in the world of biographies as Grogan's was in the world of dog books!
I loved "Marley," by the way. Wonderful book! |

| Goofyernmost Sat 8/12/2006 6:30a | Lacking in sophistication but always in need of a chuckle, I am re-reading, for the hundredth time, "Dave Barry Slept here". A very funny twist on American History. As he puts it "an extremely accurate look at history if it wasn't for the fact that I made most of it up". It is the funniest book I have ever read. A close second is "Dave Barry Turns 40". |

| Tinkerbell819 Sat 8/12/2006 7:44p | I just read "Dave Barry Slept Here" last month, Goofyernmost! It was a riot! Everything in American history occurred on one date Oct. 8th, his son's b-day! He is too funny. I miss his columns, too. We don't get them in our paper, but I get them emailed from Miami Herald. Does anyone remember that one he did about theme parks? It was classic. (I was trying to find it on the web to post, but I wasn't able to. Maybe it will come in my email soon, b/c they are delivering the classics while he's off.) John, it sounds like you are in good hands with John Grogan's literary agent! Are you working on a book now? |

| JohnS1 Sat 8/12/2006 10:06p | I absolutely love Dave Barry's books! His two novels weren't bad either. I met him once when he came to speak at our university. And I won a contest he sponsored in his column one year.

It goes to my publisher in two weeks. My agent (Laurie) is looking at it now. Wish me luck. |
