| LVCajun Mon 8/28/2006 7:48a | Black Dahlia saw the preview of the upcoming movie and decided to read the book before I see the movie, which is what usually try to do.
Oh and I am reading How To Eat Fried Worms to my daughter... again before we go see the movie. |

| SuzieQ Thu 8/31/2006 11:04a | I couldn't get past the first chapter in the first book of that series. I know it's immensely popular, but it had zero appeal to me :( |

| alexbook Thu 8/31/2006 11:55a | ^^--I feel a need now and then to read something outside my comfort zone. Partly it's a matter of professional interest (What are these books and how can I sell them?), but mostly it's just to challenge myself. That said, the series strikes me as an interesting idea poorly executed. Last time I read it I got bored half-way through and gave up, but this time I'm determined to plug away at it until I finish. |

| Autopia Deb Thu 8/31/2006 12:21p | That's a lot of books to read, especially if you find them boring. |

| alexbook Thu 8/31/2006 12:34p | Well, "boring" might be overstating the case. They're no more poorly written than, say, Star Trek books.
Besides, as you know, I have no life. :-P |

| LacyBelle Thu 8/31/2006 1:54p | I'm with SuzieQ. My Mom tried to get me to read the series since she was enjoying it so. I got through about two or three chapters of the first book before giving up. I tried, I just wasn't interested. |

| MissCandice Thu 8/31/2006 3:42p | 1984 is one of my favorites, Dar, I hope you are enjoying it.
I am still reading Grapes of Wrath but I am taking a break from it and reading a book called "The Jane Austen Book Club", some light fiction that is making me want to re-read Austen. I also just finished "Close Range" by Annie Prolux, short stories taking place in Wyiming. The book included the store "Brokeback Mountain".
