I'm only on page 22, and already I've learned all sorts of fascinating things. For example, before building Disneyland, "Disney sent his representatives around the world, visiting amusement parks and other entertainment venues in every country (plus Canada) and taking copious notes and numerous photographs (or vice versa). Their final report revealed that most of these venues were expensive, dirty, badly run, unsuitable for families, occasionally life-threateningly dangerous, or French. Disney thought this over and decided that, while expensive was okay, all the rest of that stuff had to go." |
