Sat 6/19/2004 1:30p | The secret pals were done during the Winter Bash (we are nothing on LP if not politically correct). :-) Inspector 57, MNG, and Mrs. Nurmi facilitated it. It was basically an online Secret Pal drawing. (The actual drawing of names was done by Inspector 57 and MNG on the phone. They then notified people of their pals via e-mail. They also served as a routing stop if sending your gifts directly from your address would have given away your identity). You then sent your person e-greetings, word puzzles, little gifts, etc. for about a month, I think. Then on a certain date you sent your final gift to your person and as much as possible, everyone tried to open those gifts while lots of people were online. It was great fun--many people were incredibly creative in posting puzzles, stories, poems, etc. for their pal.
Whew! The person after me is going to some sort of social gathering this weekend. |
