I was sad to read on the main page that Goldsmith had died. I guess I always thought of him as "the other John Williams" because you saw so much of his influence on films in the 80's. As the story said, the had written the them for Star Trek and the Waltons. The first "Mummy" movie was also scored by Goldsmith. And for some reason I will always remember him for writing the score to "The Secret of NIMH." Even those who don't recognize the name "Jerry Goldsmith" have heard his music at some point in their life. His talent will be greatly missed.
