OK, I hope this isn't too obscure; I'm sticking with the TV theme for the moment.

In "Family Ties", Skippy never really knew his origin. When he finally obtained a copy of his birth certificate (in search of his birth-mom), what name was recorded thereon?

No--I think that name was given to him by his adopted parents. He was looking for his real mom, and his birth certificate said his name was . . . .

(As I said, this is very obscure. I don't even know why I've always remembered it. It it's too much after a day or so, we'll give alternative credit for Irwin and move on.)

Oh, yeah, Skippy actually asked the Keatons to use his "real name" after he found his birth certificate--but it lasted only for that episode.

BTW, I loved Family Ties as a kid.

Sorry. I should have realized that was a ridiculous question. Skippy's birth certificate lists his name as "Baby Boy Doe."

But I have another TV related question:

What was the dad's job on "Growing Pains" and where did he work?

He was a psychiatrist (sp?) who worked in a home office?
