Since I asked for your source, it is only fair that I give you mine.

Disneyland Park 13.9 > 12.7 (figures in millions)
Magic Kingdom 15.4 > 14.0
Epcot 10.6 > 8.6
MGM Studios 8.9 > 7.8
Animal Kingdom 8.3 > 7.3

I find in interesting that Disneyland Park's attendance has dropped LESS (as a percentage) than any other U.S. Disney Park. You don't suppose that DCA perhaps actually HELPED DL attendance, do you?

Nahhh.... couldn't be!

This is one of the problems I keep having with these threads, there is too much information, or missinformation floating around out there. For as many "quotes" thatare posted for DCA, there are quotes agianst DCA. It becomes a classic he said she said, with only the posters persoanl favor guiding the theme.
As a publicly traded company, Does Disney not have to publish fiscal result from all their investments? I havn't received our annual report, but I am pretty sure there would be some numbers in there to tell all what DCA is making or loosing.
Does any one here have "Disney" numbers?

<The other Disney parks don't have set attendance goals> REALLY ?!?! Tang I find that really amazing. I would have thought that a basic attendendance goal would be ... well basic. It always amazxies me what diffrent companys use as tools of measure.

Your last post re my questions was every thing I injoy about your posts. No that is not ment as a jab or insult, but you took each of my questions and comments, and with out finding cute ways to paint me personaly, countered them effectivly. touche, well done you "arm chair designer" ; )
Truthfully I was not aware of your back ground, but giving the stylings of your posts, I was a ware that you were well informed by some means.
Enough of the "smells like flatery " comments.

Dark Beer, If you took offence from my orig. post on your thread, I am sorry. It was not ment as any personal attack on to you, or any one poster.

^ I didn't take offence, these are discussion boards and people have the right to let their opinions be heard.

What bothers me is when folks talk about the "poster" instead of the information in the post.

Another thing is someone saying basically "shut the **** up". My response is usually to post more on the subject.

I just checked my stats, I have started almost 800 topics here at LP (actual number 798). Hopefully most of them have made some interesting discussions, which is the point of the bord!

My recommendation, if you are not interested in the thread, just don't go back, there are many sections here at LP I don't read, or hardly go to.....

Well I I am sorry about the perseption or your take on my post, and I will take more care in my verbage, I realy didn't intend it to sound like ..."shut the **** up". And I would never intend to tell any one what they can or can not post.
<<My recommendation, if you are not interested in the thread, just don't go back, there are many sections here at LP I don't read, or hardly go to.....>>
I do agree, but I read and posted on the thread because I am intrested with it's points and topics. I might very much disagree with the point being made, but don't think I find it unintresting.

<<Every U.S. Disney Park has suffered major attendance drops (and I would presume, lost profitability) since 9/11. You CAN'T blame it all on DCA.>>

And you can't -- at this point -- blame ANY of it on 9/11.

I'm so sick and tired of seeing companies use the greatest mass murder in US history as excuse for all sorts of bad business decisions.

If you want to say 9/11 affected theme park (and DCA/DL) attendance from 9/01 to early 2003, I'll give it some credence. But before 9/11? And the last 18 months-two years?

Sorry. I'm not a Disney PR spinner.

Good point, I think that 911's direct effect on vacation destinations has run it's course. But it's long term effect on peoples priorities will be felt for decades to come.
DCA's attendance figures have been a focal point on this thread ( and others) for a while, with the intent of showing the park in a mostly negative light.
Case and point , the parks attendance has not met it's stated objective, and in that area it HAS failed.
Does it make DCA a failure in whole?
I don't think so. But it does open up a large amount of new questions.
Will the attendance improve, and what measures are Disney taking?
If the Company is not making it's attendance figures , how far off are the $$$, and when will the share holders demand a higher return on investment by DLR?
Will adding a large amount of new E-ticket rides, translate into higher attendance?
Are the attendance levels trending up or down, and have the powers that be reassesed the plan ?

There are a thousand more questions, that will come up about this park, ( and others). but the facts to those questions will be blended so badly with passion, and guesses, that we may be lost finding the truth.
Still fun to look eh?
