As nice a park as parts of DCA is we all know that Disney COULD have done better and decided not to. I think that fact is what frustrates Disney fans.

>people. Be reasonable

Just being in Disneyland wouldn't make Muppets or TOT or Animation anymore exciting than they are in DCA. Animation is nice but it's an exhibit same as Innoventions. There's not a whole lot to do there on repeat visits. Muppets is a very old 3D film. People have complained about HISTA for at least 6 years now - so why wouldn't they complain about HISTA?

Yes they could put those attractions in Disneyland - but that doesn't mean they would somehow be better. Muppets doesn't belong in DL anymore than HISTA. They're both old and need to go.

As for TOT - I don't think it even comes close to the same quality as DL's later E tickets like Indy, Splash or Star Tours.

There's still a differentiation of quality there.

Mystery Lodge is a pretty cool attraction that would have been a great addition to Disneyland's Indian Village (or even present day Frontierland off of the Big Thunder Trail).

Attractions at Knott's that can be found at Disney...

The Steam Trains - Heck, they are already at Disneyland

The Stage Coach ride - Heck, this used to be offered at DL

GhostRider - A TRUE Woodie Roller Coaster, much better than California Screamin'

Xcelerator - A steel coaster that is better than Screamin'

Silver Bullet - Another great Steel Coaster, like California Screamin'

Mystery Lodge - a film based attraction that uses a live actor and special effects

The Ghost Town area would fit into Frontierland. The Calico stage show would fit into the Golden Horseshoe.

The Mine Train Ride, as mentioned earlier is similar to what was offered prior to Big Thunder.

As as mentioned earlier, the Log Ride would also fit into the Frontierland themeing, and at least the Knott's version still has the old-fashion seating, so kids can sit with their parents, unlike Splash.

Knott's Wild West Stunt Show, heck, WDW has onw stunt show now, and is adding a second.

The Shooting gallery, heck Knott's is bigger than the Frontierland version

Jaguar - IMHO a better family coaster than Mulholland Madness

The Merrry Go Round, a classic 100 year old version, better than the King Triton version

Waveswinger - same version as Orange Stinger - though I prefer the Knott's setting with trees, etc. then spinning inside of concrete

Hat Dance - at least this version spins, unlike the Tea Cups....

The arcades - just like StarCade

Supreme Scream - a much better version of the Maliboomer, this version comes without those horrible Scream shields on Maliboomer

Sky Cabin - If we had the Skyway between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland...

Kingdom of the Dinosaurs - A dark ride that is longer and more detailed than some of the DL versions, such as Pooh and Pinocchio's

Bumper Cars - At least Knott's version is faster, and not placed in the kiddie area... even though it has the same height requirement

The Charles M. Schulz Theater - Knott's had a 2,000 seat theater long before DCA had the Hyperion, and I prefer the Ice Skating show to either Aladdin or Snow White.

Bigfoot Rapids - as mentioned earlier, just like GRR

Indian Trails - Disneyland offered the same type of entertainment prior to building Bear (now Critter) Country.

Camp Snoopy Theater - The shows are better than Club Buzz in my opinion

Red Baron - a themed Dumbo type ride, if you think Flik's Flyers are Disney quality...

A Kiddie true Steam engine, something that would be neat in DCA, which has no type of transporation around the park.

The Walter K Steamboat, a kiddie version of the Mark Twain, perfect fit into Camp Snoopy

Flying Ace Balloon Company - Basically the same ride as Flik's Flyers

Gee, I have named more Knott's attraction just in this list than offered at DCA.....

And there is still a lot more stuff at Knott's

<<Darkbeer, still waiting for the list of Knotts attractions that could be placed into Didneyland.>>

As usual, Nobody is correct!

<<Mystery Lodge is a pretty cool attraction that would have been a great addition to Disneyland's Indian Village (or even present day Frontierland off of the Big Thunder Trail).>>

Here is my list of KBF attractions that would be a great fit inside Disneyland Park.

Calico Ghost Town Railroad
Calico Mine Train
Timber Mountain Log Ride
Overland Stagecoach
Knott's Berry Tales (RIP)
Bigfoot Rapids
Soapbox Racers (RIP)
Tiajuana Taxi (RIP)
The Bird Cage Theatre (RIP mostly)
The Calico Saloon and Can Can Show
The Western Trails Museum
Boot Hill Graveyard
The Haunted Shack (RIP)
The Mule Train (RIP)
The (Original) Pan Fer Gold (RIP)
The Covered Wagon Cyclorama (RIP)
All of Ghost Town incl. Peak Ins
The Carousel
Old Mac Donald's Farm Petting Zoo and Mule-go-round (RIP)
The San Francisco Cable Cars (RIP)
The Candy Parlour (RIP)
The Little Red School House
The Gem and Mineral Shop
Mrs. Knotts Chicken Dinner Restaurant

Need I go on?

Before you start hacking away at this list, you must remember a primary goal of Walt Disney's vision for Disneyland:

He wanted to give his guests the American heritage experience. Walter Knott had achieved that so very well at KBP with Ghost Town. Walt Disney was able to capitalize on this through many of his previous film projects.

So yeah, the list of attractions that I give from KBF meet several of Walt Disney's original criteria for Disneyland Park. They are historically educational, immersive, but most of all, they are fun for the WHOLE family to enjoy together.

Well, as much as I want Knott's Beary Tales back, I suppose I won't be getting it at DCA. But that is a perfect example of the kinds of atractions DCA should be doing. Same with Soapox Racers... MAN, that was one of the best rides ever.

Imagine if DCA had something like that on the north side of Paradise Pier. Themed in the Disney way, of course. But SBR wasn't just a ride, it really was a race. Was I the only one who leaned into the turns?

Now I'll have to check out some of these other rides. If DCA's initial goal was to outdo the competition, let's really take it to the next level and "borrow liberally" from them.

>>FINAL OBSERVATIONS

I really wish I could get worked up over this park, but I can't. I kind of had Six Flags Fever as I walked through it. After seeing the first bit of theming, I immediately lost all hope of ever seeing true Disney theming. Even worse, some areas of the park can't even compare to Six Flags theming. There are several areas in Magic Mountain that are actually themed BETTER than most of DCA. That is just sad.<<

So basically what you guys are saying is that pretty much everything at Knotts would fit nicely into Disneyland. You guys are hilarious.

Darkbeer, I dont want this to seem like I am questioning your knowledge or anything. I know I have rebutted some of your statements on this thread, but I definitely appreciate your insite on the parks and realy enjoy the pictures you post.

To be honest, I dont think you can put those standard coasters in Disneyland, that is why I didnt mention Screamin as 1 of the attractions from DCA that would fit into DL. As far as major attractions, I realy dont think that any major attraction could go from Knotts to DL. MHO.
