| ModHatter Sun 10/31/2004 1:50p | Well, as I just saw at Disneyland Friday, Walt used to take the Fire Engine out for a spin around his park. That's the kind of person who needs to be in charge of creative expansion of the resort.
I had high hopes for Matt being this sort of person, but if these Nemo and Monsters and Woody ideas prove true, my hopes are unfounded.
In any case, I'd like to believe that Pooh will teach a few people that the ride is more important than the toon tie-in. But I'm not holding my breath... |

Because a "failure" approved it! |

Kinda like the appeal of DCA's uninspired attractions. |

Most of them are inspired by locals in California. If you can not see that, then it's understandable why you dislike the park. |

| disneywatcher Sat 11/6/2004 5:04p | Now I finally understand why DCA was deemed a worthwhile project by the DisCo's CEO:
"I am very good at managing failure," Michael Eisner told a Goldman Sachs conference recently. (Newsweek, 10-25-04)

That's not even a complete statement. Local what? Landmarks? People? Ideas?
And if indeed it was inspired by local GUESTS, then that's a completely erroneous assumption. If it's inspired by local artisans, they were under the dictum to save money, not to dazzle.
Your presumptions are simply in error. The park was never given a CHANCE to impress or exceed expectations.
BTW, good quote, Disneywatcher. |
