Ask Iger why DCA is still a failure. He won't be able to fix it either.

^^^Hey all! This is just meant in fun Imagineer This.

I find that if you read some of the posts written by ImagineerThis as if Droopy the Dog were saying them, they're very funny.

Try it. Pull the sides of your mouth out and read the above post like Droopy the Dog.

Funny, isn't it?

You can also try it using Eeyore's voice. Follow the above post with 'Thanks for noticing me...'

The problem with DCA is the lack of suspended disbelief, with DL your welcomed from the entrance to a magical kingdom, starting with main street usa, your enveloped into a charming traditional main street, with the use of smaller detailed buildings, well thought out colors quaint shops, horse drawn carriages, and gas lanterns to light up the night , you can't help but feel as though your experiencing something magical. With DCA the details are sadly missing, upon entering the park you have to walk almost a block and turn left to the Hollywood area just to start to get even close to the details on Disneyland.

DCA's fist and foremost problem is a general execution of concept. Case in point, take the may buildings in DL, they're more than simply storefronts or restraints but rather they act as sets in a elaborate story and reflect the land for which they reside. They do this with rich colors, time textured period correct designs and material that are smart down to the smallest details like the fonts used for lettering the signs. But they do more than this they scale the building down to creating warm spaces that invite you to explore many more times. Now think back to DCA, while it has many buildings few if any offer this rich tapestry, with the exception of the Hollywood area, Tower of Terror, and the Grizzly River Run, but if you look at the many buildings in the pier area, they serve no real purpose, their one dimensional at best, facades that ask no more than a cursory look. While many people don't actively notice these things on a conscience level they do on their subconscious level. Think back on all the times you spend in line on a Disneyland ride, while your going thru the lines there's plenty of eye candy to keep you interested, what eye candy does DCA offer, not much because the whole land is with the exception of their biggest rides nothing more than a boardwalk, and look at the fate of those long forgotten relic's. Most live on only in photographs.

DCA's biggest problem is that DL attracts visitors from all over the world who come first to DL and are treated to a rich tapestry for the senses and once they have a taste for it they expect nothing less, however once Disney set's people up for a magical experience they send them off to a place that offers nothing more than kiddie rides, and blatant advertisement (tortilla and sour dough bread tours? ). With a land called California adventure you'd think that they'd offer many of the treats California has to offer, perhaps a scaled version of a true winery complete with caves and vats, or a Chinatown bazaar area complete with little curio shops and trinkets, they could have included some mulan reference, or perhaps had a mini animation studio complete with tour. Another thing I don't get is being a Californian born and raised I'd have thought they would have had an earthquake ride and perhaps a surf area lagoon instead of much of what they had put in. Or they could have had a gold mining area. Those are symbols of California that people identify with right away. And perhaps they would have set all this up in lands, much like DL. I spent the night this summer in DCA and with little to do but wander around and explore I can tell you there's not much in grand style to mark your way around the areas. On looking back I can tell you it doesn't hide the fact that it was once a parking lot too well. Don't get me wrong I still enjoy hopping over there to ride the three or four rides they do offer but it always seems that everyone has the same idea as me so after a fast passing a ride I'll wait in line for another ride then I'll leave. After all what else is there to do there?

I know I am in the minority but just got back from a 4 day trip and we loved DCA this is the 4th time we have all been and the kids and adults love the park....I do see your points but i think DCA is a winner yes there does need to be some improvement becuase there is lots of extra unused space but we loved the trip and out time at DCA.

<<With DCA the details are sadly missing>>

I disagree. DCA is plagued with probably the poorest entrance area of any theme park I've ever seen. But if people would get past that and take a good look at what really is at DCA, I think their opinion just might be different.

The pictures right here at Laughing Place show the attention to detail evident at DCA. I'm an unabashed fan of DCA, and proud to say so.

Even the much maligned Paradise Pier offers one of the prettiest nighttime scenes I've ever found at a theme park. Even if it had no purpose other than to provide a wonderful view while I sit and have a glass of wine at the Vineyard, it was money well spent.
