Sun 2/11/2001 9:48p | After the complete lack of visitors this weekend, the new nickname circulating amongst all the cast members for DCA is "DOA".
Things were very, very slow. Disneyland was a little slower than estimated, and DCA was a fraction of the 38,000 that had been estimated. On Friday DCA only got 9,000 paying guests in thru the gates all day! And DCA was open from 8am until 12 Midnight. A tiny fraction of the 38,000 planned for. At Disneyland, there were just under 25,000 paying guests thru the gates, and Disneyland was only open from 10am until 10pm.
My Managers are all saying that if things dont pick up alot for next weekends big Holiday, and DCA gets crowded with actual paying guests instead of free and discount preview tickets, then there will be big trouble ahead.
But, all the cast members are simply calling DCA .... DOA.

DCA will be successful. It will grow ...and the crowds will come. But how they expect large crowds in the middle of winter is beyond me! |

It's actually quite scary to think about-and this is coming from somebody who has been an ardent DCA detractor!
Oh well(back in slamming mode), if this does happen, perhaps they will have to use my copywrited name,
