The name is a combination of 2 words, first word means "go someplace", second means "someplace to stay".
The hotel chain is still around. Even the mascot is the same as I remember. |

The TraveLodge Tower it is. The name changed to Viscount for a few years. Interesting to hear people try to pronounce it. Front desk people said Vycount, most said Visscount.
The mascot was and still is...
Sleepy Bear. He has kind of a Chuck E. Cheesy look now. |
