Wow! That land looks huge! The Tahitian Terrace looks very remeniscent of the Tiki Room in DL. I also see many tikis around that look a lot like the ones from the Tiki Room. There is a replica in Professor Porter's that was just released in the DL merchandise for AL. Bizarre.

Yeah, that is a BIG adventureland LOL. Actually, almost all the Adventureland's are given ample space except poor little DL's :(. But yeah, that one looks cool. It looks like a smaller version of Animal Kingdom :).

I have to admit, as much crap as I am giving this park I can honestly say the parts that are done well are done REALLY well :). Where's all the Jungle Cruise pictures?? We didn't get so much as one robotic animal. I assume there's a reson for that right?

There was a shot of an elephant next to the river. I think they are waiting to show shots of on rides/queues for the park to open. I really like the paths with the trees in the middle of them. They really help it feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, oddly enough, especially in large crowds. They help disperse the crowd over a larger area, so you feel more alone compared to the rest of the day. The only other place where I can remember this being done really well is in DL's Frontierland, just outside El Rancho. It is one of my favorite areas in the park, for just that reason. I was really glad to see that effect used in HK too.

Good point. I guess I didn't think about it since JC is honestly the only attraction I'm interested in seeing sad to say :(.

ORDDU: This particular Adventureland comes across as a condensed version of Animal Kingdom from Walt Disney World. Very nicely put together!

Did I miss something? Only one attraction in the largest Adventureland? No pirates, no Temple of Doom, no tiki's. so what makes this so special? all ladscaping?

I wish I would have caught these different topics sooner, they do look like a lot of fun.

Was the land even opened on the day these pictures were taken? The place seemed empty, especially with the picture of the one kid halfway across the river, and the guide was the only other person on that giant raft.

The tikis are exactly like those found at Disneyland. It is kind of wierd to see them like that. Especially the drummers in the Tarzan shop. Do the gods at the Tahatian Terrace have any kind of dialouge or actions?

This really is the Bizarro Magic Kingdom with the replicating of structures. It certainly works better in Adventureland then it does on Main Street, and it is actually pretty neat to see the orignal Jungle Cruise structure.

The Jungle Cruise sure seems open, like the Rivers of America. I know that kind of setting wouldn't work on disneyland's attraction, and it is part of the problem with WDW's, I am interested to know how it affects the experience at Hong Kong. Does it seem less action packed? Does it feel that you are always being watched by guests on the walkways, and you dont really head anywhere exotic?

I know I'm rambling, but this is really the first Magic Kingdom that has debuted since I have been really into Disney theme parks. I remember trying to watch the Paris preview, but I got freaked out by the Phantom Manor segment and I shut the TV off (Hey, I was like 7!).

I dont care for the "generalized locale" look. I much prefer Disneyland's obvious Africa, Polynesian Islands, Asia, (if only we had more of the middle east than the Aladdin Sign, I have never been in the Oasis. The recent Jungle Crusie additions have finally given South America some scenery, but it still deserves a building).

I like the scale of the land, Adventureland has always been my favorite, but this lacking of a solid locale does harm the area quite a bit. Animal Kingdom is one of my favorite parks, but I cant stand that entrance area, which gives off no sense of place. I am afraid Hong Kong would do the same thing to me. The whole concept kind of goes against the True Life Adventures Land. It is a lot harder to learn about exotic places when there isn't really one represented.

And they went for the WDW Entrance, which has got nothing on Disneyland. But it is a rather neat showcase of details. A few of those masks look like art projects I have here in my room, which I have created over the years (based on the Jungle Cruise and Tiki Room figures of course).

I was expecting more from the orignal concept art images, but it seems okay so far. I want to know more about Tarzan's Island. I was hoping for a Pride Rock to be part of the theater area (like the concept art shows), I also thought Aladdin would be featured more prominetly. And because of the emphasis on animated characters I had secretly hoped that the Jungle Book (my favorite Disney film) would have a presence, and possible talks of a dark ride.

I thought that the Jungle Cruise would get treated like the railroad with multiple stops. It would be erie if the Haunted Mansion had its own secluded dock. I hope that is the next attraction to come to the land, followed by a thrilling Pirates and a Big Thunder themed to an African Diamond Mine, that plays up the whole Dinosaur excavation site.

The Mansion and the Diamond Mine would be nice companion attractions, story-wise.

Alright, I have blabbed on forever, but I'm trying to avoid writing a speech for my COM class.

Thanks for the photos Leemac.
