| TDLFAN Mon 8/22/2005 8:01p | OMG!! It's Disney's Hong Kong Animal Kingdom Park!!! Gorgeous! Great shots Lee and Lindsay, especially the one where you see the mountain the back of the Jungle Cruise river and Tarzan's Condo in the sky.
One thing does look rather out of place... Nothing new here since this is something that every park has but I have noticed that among that wonderful themeing all around..I could not help but notice the plain pipe bars that make up the Jungle Cruise's queue. Same visible bars were visible just inside Space Mountain in the TL pictorial... Of course, I realize that there is no other way to design a queue in small spaces, but I wish Disney had tried just a bit harder to install more sightly and themed queue barricades as opposed to the plain pipe-style ones so prevalent at MK and most of the opening day rides at TDL.
But the rest of HKDL's Adventureland sure looks pretty. My DAK-loving friend dennis-in-ct will approuve. |

And that river water is really brown. |

They are still very prevalent at WDW too. Just compare our Big Thunder, Space, and Splash Mountain setups. The only attraction where WDW has us beat is Pirates, and maybe the Mansion. |

See guys, I'm not the only one angry and bitter ;D.
JUST for the record though, there are SIX attractions here according to the HKDL website. YES, SIX!! They are:
-Jungle Cruise
-Festival of the Lion King
-Tarzan Island
-Tarzan TREEHOUSE
-Rafts TO Tarzan treehouse..and uh, island
-Liki Tikis (think water bursting fountains)
So THERE, maaaany more attractions there then just one smarty pants. I'm going to be the first in line to hit those Tarzan rafts the first day I'm there ;). |

Now that we've seen most of the park I have to really wonder, where oh where are the rides??? |

No you didn't miss a thing. You got it in one.
On a change of subject....
Was Tarzan a big hit in Hong Kong? The way they are pushing it you would figure that it was the #1 movie in the area. |
