| TP2000 Wed 8/24/2005 8:14p | More great pics! This hotel looks fantastic as a mid-range Disney themed hotel. I'll say it again... Anaheim desperately needs something like this to replace the bland Paradise Pier and very tired looking Disneyland Hotel.
I loved the classic cars placed about the grounds. Here's yet another detail that DCA still doesn't have. California is well known around the world for it's car culture, and the Hollywood Hotel in Hong Kong plays that up well with those hot rods and big Cadillacs placed on the Hotel roadways. Why, oh why, was DCA built without one, single car placed on the many faux roads around that Park? Oh, I remember now, because that would cost a few extra bucks and help the Park out thematically, and that's certainly not something the DCA planners and executives in charge would have dared to do.
Hong Kong Disneyland's infrastructure and design team could teach a few things to those in charge of DCA. |

Sooo true. Yeah, you're right, it would seem like a no-brainer to bring a hotel like this to TDR. But yeah, that would mean one hell of a renovation of PP hotel (basically bulldozing it and starting over), so although theme wise it would be perfect with a new modern design since DL hotel and PP hotel feel REALLY stuck in the 60's and 70's, I can't blame them for not building something like this.
If Grand Californian wasn't built, then I could see it happening, but yeah hotels aren't cheap to build. Who knows, we KEEP hearing about a possible 4th hotel going in the resort somewhere in the future.....maybe this could be the next one :). |

| BrigmanMT 2 Wed 8/24/2005 8:53p | It is a very elegant looking moderate hotel.
I love the Hotel sign, and like the Hyperion Marquee and photo op with the ticket booth, but the cars and the road signs looked more in line with the All-Star hotels.
The white one in front of the sign was cool, but the others didn't seem real, and looked out of place. Not that the car in front of the sign didn't look out of place, I just liked how the two features went together.
Is there any water access from the hotel grounds, or is it all fenced off with (what appears to be) a service road? Is the water sanitary, is it too deep in this area? |

The same park benches (but with red stone rather than white) can be found between Disneyland and DCA. |

It is a bit of a collaborative approach these days but most of it fell under the watch of Wing Chao at WDI. Having spoken to him recently he seemed to take a very hands-on approach with this one! |

I noticed you can see the outline of the future room extension on this map (Just above the pool). Any idea how many rooms this adds?:
